How to restore vintage art frames
Sometimes
we may give up buying a vintage artwork because the frame looks out of fashion
or it is not clean, or the color is not on trend.
Do
not give up buying an art you like just because of that. Also, it is a novel approach
to decorate with original vintage and antique
art, because it is so very
historical, like decorating from a time capsule. Also Consider that the artist has
put a great deal of effort, art whose artist passed along to posterity through signal
moments in history. The art tells about those moments and reminds us to
remember some things that have been forgotten.
So
how to update some of these wonderful artworks and prints on a budget?
First remove the staples carefully, remove the glass and take care of it
carefully, then you will remove the art with care. After that sand the
wooden frame, remove the dust with a wet rag, (not too wet), then wait until it
is dry and clean. Then spray or brush on with your favorite paint.
I
had this frame that came with a vintage flower print. To keep the vintage look
- but with a touch of new
- I chose a brown color paint. The paint I chose to use
was Krylon Color Maxx paint + prime, satin leather brown. I think it turned out
good, and goes well with a vintage art, or country landscape!
